Amendments to Canadian Beef Cattle Levies and Regulations

The Canadian Beef Cattle Research, Market Development and Promotion Agency has made amendments to the Beef Cattle Research, Market Development and Promotion Levies Order. These changes include updating the definition of the collector in Newfoundland and Labrador and adjusting the levy amounts for residents of Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador who sell beef cattle through interprovincial trade. The amendments also involve the repeal of section 5, which dealt with levy amounts under special circumstances, and make administrative changes to sections 3, 4, 9, 12, and 16. The amendments specify that section 4 and subsection 12(1) will cease to have effect on June 30, 2026. The changes are intended to support the implementation of the promotion and research plan authorized for the Agency. [Source]
